Instruction on Brazilian Visa Application

Documents for Tourist Visa:

1. A valid passport
2. A completed Brazil Visa Application Form AND a copy of it. (Download Application Form)
3. A photo (2 inches large as your passport photo)
4. A copy of round trip tickets.(No need to be a real ticket. A computer generated travel itinerary is fine.)
5. A money order of $110/person payable to Brazilian Consulate.
6. A money order of $30/person payable to Metropolitan Express
7. A self addressed envelope with postage or account info for return (FedEx, EMS are preferred.)

Documents for Business Visa:

1. A valid passport
2. A completed Brazil Visa Application Form AND a copy of it. (Download Application Form)
3. A photo (2 inches large as your passport photo)

4. A company statement, from the American business (or otherwise, the business for which the applicant works) within the following guidelines:
a) Written in letterhead;
b) Indication, or confirmation (in case of an earlier visa) of the applicant's employment status (whether employee at will, independent contractor, trainee or other);
c) Disclosure of the schedule of the business trip to Brazil, with full details of each activity performed while in Brazil;
d) Ensurance of the company's responsibility for the applicant's expenses and activities whenever he or she is in Brazil on behalf of the company, within the duration of the visa;
e) State the contact person's name;
f ) Signed by a high-ranking official (other than the applicant) entitled to commit the company to the trustworthiness of all of the statements made in the letter.

6. A money order of $170/person payable to Brazilian Consulate
7. A money order of $30/person payable to Metropolitan Express
8. A self addressed envelope with postage or account info for return (FedEx, EMS are preferred.)

SCENARIO

It takes 5 business days for Brazilian Consulate to process your visa application. If you use FedEx next day or EMS to apply and to return, there will be another 2 days for your mail to go back and forth. Certified or registered mails are also acceptable, but they will have a longer turn around time.
